Peewee

ABC Border Bowl

Hey Cougars!!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you and your families. I hope you have had a wonderful holiday so far. Here is an opportunity for more football!!

In 2014 All Canadian Gridiron  "ABC Border Bowl" implemented the Young Stars Level Grade 6 and 7. (Peewees) in to the Border Bowl. If you played Peewee Tackle Football in 2017 this is your age level.

The All Canadian Gridiron Border Bowl is operated by a gentleman named Ron Dias. Ron is also the owner of Central Canadian Scouting. This is the only independent  football scouting operation in Canada. Ron has many direct ties with All the CIS football programs and many of the NCAA football programs.

The ABC Border Bowl Young Stars Team Alberta is a team made up of the best 44 peewee aged football players in Alberta. (This is a try out team).

Tryouts for the team cost $60.00 / athlete per tryout.

You only need to attend ONE tryout and if you can, using the game tape footage Nancy Sinclair provided us all, you could make a high light tape of yourself to submit to the coaching staff. (Not a requirement by any means)

Coaching Staff for Team Ab Young Stars is as follows:

If you wish to attend tryouts YOU WILL NEED A HELMET AND MOUTH GUARD,  please be at the tryout location at least 45 - 60 min prior to the scheduled tryout time.  You will be required to fill out paperwork: Past football history, Past Medical History, and a waiver. There will be no ATM so please bring exact cash for the tryout fee.

Normally with in 3-4 weeks of the tryout date you will receive notification if you have been selected for the team or not. At this point you will be required to pay the team fees. Fees have traditionally been between $500-800. This fee includes insertion camp, transportation to BC, Meals, Jerseys, Swag, Accommodations, The Game, Live game broadcast, and transportation home.

If you have been selected for the team There will be a 2 day insertion camp some time in Late April or early May. Location TBD. Last year it was in Lacombe.

The ABC Border Bowl game will be played on Saturday May 26th at either Kelowna or Vernon.

OK now for the fun details.

All players that are selected to play on All Canadian Grid Iron Team AB, will be transported to Kelowna or Vernon by motor coach. all athletes will be staying on campus, each player will have their own dorm room. Once settled in to their room all players will receive their jerseys, (They get to keep them) and their Team Alberta Goodies (Shirts, Shorts, Hoodis, ect.). The players will receive meals, practices and transportation while they are there. I highly, highly recommend that a healthy meal is packed for the bus trip and they have snack spending money while there. If your athlete is returning on the Bus they will need money to purchase snacks for the trip back. The Game will be broadcast on the VBN network. Any parents, grandparents, friends, family that can not make it to your game can watch you live on the VBN network. All they need is internet.  As well as our loved ones watching the game live on the VBN Network there will be more than 100 scouts from CIS, NCAA, and CJFL watching the game so they can start building athlete ID's so your athlete can be followed through their football career.

Please feel free to contact me (president@sgdmfa.com)with any questions in regards to the All Canadian Gridiron ABC Border Bowl.  I don’t have much more information at this time but the coaches meetings start in early January so if you have more questions I can always get you the answers.

Thank you

Coach Rob
