SUMMER BREAK AND A FEW REMINDERS
Happy Summer Cougar Families! Just a reminder that football takes a break until August. We start back at the field August 7, 2018. August is a busy month for us as we prepare for our tiering games and the start of the football league regular season games. Please remember to let your manager know if you will be away during August.
Here are a few reminders:
50/50 tickets - your second-round of 50/50 tickets are available. Some of you may have received them at the Jamboree and the rest will be available for pick up from your manager at the first practice in August. If you have questions about the 50/50 tickets, please email our secretary Jodi at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Parent meeting - for those parents who missed our May parent meetings you will be required to attend an August parent meeting. Watch for dates once football resumes. These parent meetings are mandatory - at least one parent must attend in August if you did not attend in May.
Compete to Contribute - Spruce Grove Football is once again participating in Compete to Contribute. Last year, with our huge donation to the food bank thanks to the volunteer hours of our players and families, we brought home first place. This year we have an even bigger plan! Everything will happen during August so be ready to help us give back to our community. Details will be shared via the website so please check often.
Equipment - for new players, and those returning to us in August after playing other spring sports, please connect with our equipment director Shawn at email@example.com to make sure you have your gear ready for first practice. A reminder that your equipment deposit cheque and your volunteer deposit cheques must be handed in at the time you pick up your equipment. Contrary to the popular belief of many of our players, Shawn does not live in the equipment room, nor will he be hanging around there all July! Please connect with him to set up an appointment for suit-ups.
Return to play procedure - just a reminder that Football Alberta has mandated that all players participate in 3 hours of non-equipment practice prior to full gear. If you are starting football for the first time in August, please be aware of this. You should still bring all of your equipment with you.
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact any member of the executive or your manager. Have a great month and see you in August!
